Experts throughout the global CSP industry will tackle the financial, technical and infrastructural challenges unique to South Africa, and the key lessons learned in Rounds I and II of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP) at CSP Today South Africa 2013, 4-5 February at the Southern Sun Hotel in Pretoria.
The roadblocks faced during the development of current projects, including delays in closing finance during Round I, will form a critical part of the discussion with Abengoa and ACWA Power, both confirmed to participate. Both developers will provide exclusive updates on their projects, as well as share the critical lessons that have been learned since Round I and II bids were awarded, and the steps they have taken to streamline their project development process.
Acciona Energy, the energy division of the Acciona Group, will sponsor the event. Acciona Energy currently has six CSP plants in service in both Spain and the US with a combined capacity of 314MW. In Pretoria the company will share its experiences in CSP, including reducing the on-going costs to operate and maintain CSP plants.
